Forschungsinteressen

  • Als Klimaphysikerin mit einem besonderen Interesse an der physikalischen Ozeanographie untersuche ich das Klima des Nordatlantiks und insbesondere die Entwicklung der sogenannten Atlantischen Meridionalen Umwälzzirkulation (AMOC, im deutschen auch unter dem Begriff Golfstromsystem bekannt). In der Vergangenheit habe ich mich darauf konzentriert, die Entwicklung der AMOC im 20. Jahrhundert zu bestimmen (siehe Caesar et al., 2018 und Caesar et al., 2021), aber ich bin auch sehr an der zukünftigen Entwicklung der AMOC und dem Einfluss dieses Strömungssystem auf das Erdsystem interessiert.
